Safety Reminder from the Committee

Please will Members keep their dogs on leads - unless training in the Obedience paddock or doing their Agility training exercises.

There have been several near incidents caused by loose dogs running free between their vehicles, the track and the Club field.

Also it is not fair on someone training in the Club field to have a loose dog interfering with their run.

In addition there have again been complaints about barking dogs, so please don't tie your dog up and let it bark non stop through the entire lesson ..... Members must consider the neighbours and remember how the noise travels.

Disposal of dog poo at the Club grounds

Please read the notice from the Committee regarding changes to the method of disposal of dog poo at the Club.  Click on the sign to the right to see the notice.

Paying your Money!  If you are paying anything to the Club other than the ‘Pay On The Day’ training fees, please would you put it in an envelope and clearly mark what it is for and who it is from. Pay On The Day fees should be given to your instructor before the class begins.

Dog Walks - Sue Baines and Angela Shears run a monthly dog walk for Members. We start at 11am on a Sunday and have a gentle sociable walk around the Herefordshire countryside. We have lunch afterwards at a pub, but this is entirely optional and some people just do the walk and then head home. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours and a great chance for Members who don’t normally cross paths to get to know others.

Annual General Meeting

At Kingstone Village Hall, Saturday 16th January, 2016, 7.30 pm

Make a note in your diary for this important event! It is much later than usual as more time is required to prepare the end of year accounts, particularly as our Summer Show was so close to the end of our financial year. However, we have permission from the Kennel Club to hold it then and there will be a full agenda of items for your attention, not least the popular presentation of awards for achievements within the Club (if you had an award last year, start thinking about parting with your treasure and returning it to the Club house in the next few weeks!).

There will be a letter and nomination forms coming out to everyone in November - time to think about whether you feel you can contribute to committee and Club, or support others willing to do so. There’ll also be an opportunity to nominate a charity for the Club to support next year - the amount raised for Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue this year will be announced at the AGM. Hope to see as many of you as possible at the meeting!

New Club web site

After a stack of work and general gnashing of teeth, finally the new web site is virtually complete - thanks to our IT expert Phil Smith! There is a link to it on this page so you can have a look at it and find your way around for a while, before it will replace this one completely. The only thing you can’t do at the moment is use the Members login but that will follow shortly. The calendar has only been completed for October and November and a couple of things for December. There could well be changes to the class information, so don’t worry unduly about the content. It will be updated and amended alongside the old site whilst both are running. The new site is very pictorial so you will see some old photos until there are new ones to replace them. Hope you like it!

If you have any comments or suggestions (nothing too major preferably!), please can you use the Contact form, either on this site or the new one (or via Facebook, if you use it).                New web site link.

UPDATED - Canine Christmas Party

Saturday, 12th December, 1pm at Club grounds

Jan Roberts and I would like to thank all who turned up for the dog Party. The weather was not good for us but we had fun - I saw at least two people hit the mud! Great turn out for the fancy dress, which was won by Sarita and Tia.  I would like to thank Angie Shears for being party host. The raffle for the three weeks raised £126 - thanks to all who bought tickets. Have a great Christmas and New Year, and we’ll see you all next year, 2016. We are back on the January 16th, Kingstone Village Hall, but don’t forget we have the Dog walk on 27th December, so see you then!    Sue Baines             (some pictures bottom left)

NEW - Christmas Walk

Sunday, 27th December, 10.45 for 11.00 start

Our annual Christmas dog walk in the Forest of Dean. Starting at the car park 100yds or so from the Speech House (postcode of the house is GL16 7EL). The walk starts at 11am and lasts an hour or so, after which some of us meet at the Speech House for lunch (not compulsory!). It’s been crisp and sunny the last couple of years and an enjoyable way to blow away the cobwebs, so do come along and meet up with other members. All members and family welcome.
