We teach owners to train their dogs using only kind, fair and effective methods. Although classes work towards various awards they are not the ultimate aim and are merely incorporated as a 'bench mark' and motivator/reward to indicate the progress made. The ultimate aim is to educate handlers so that they have the knowledge, skills and understanding to enable them to train their dog, be aware of the dog's needs and their responsibilities as an owner. This way both should enjoy a happy life together....back

KC Good Citizen Dog Scheme

In order to make it simpler for Members to find out what is required for the various Kennel Club Good Citizens Award tests the information is now available direct from our web site. Visit the resources page and you will find the three stages, Bronze Silver and Gold. Then there is the essential reading of Responsibility & Care requirements plus the Canine code. Once displayed you can print or download your own copy.

Classes

We endeavour to keep Instructors the same for the duration of a course whenever possible. Instructors may rotate for Puppy Classes at the end of each 6 week course. Please see the separate Puppy section for details of these courses.

KCGCDS Awards must be achieved in order - Bronze, Silver, Gold. It is not a requirement to have completed KC Puppy Foundation.

All handlers are required to complete an application form, liability form, hold a current vaccination certificate and be a member of GVDTC (membership covers handlers and dogs on Club insurance).

For enquiries or to register for a class, contact Sue Baines on 07771 158089 or by email at millymopit@hotmail.co.uk
