Obedience

Dog obedience can be split into two main categories;
Pet Obedience and Competition Obedience

Training

Puppy
Starting age approx 14 weeks to approx 5 months. Eight week course. Record of vaccinations required. Kennel Club Puppy Foundation course syllabus. The training will give the owner the ability to train their puppy so that the puppy can grow into a healthy, well behaved and social dog.

General
For all dogs, any age, any level. This training works with the owner to ensure good handling and understanding of the dog in basic obedience (includes dog behaviour problems).

Intermediate
For those that have got to a good standard of general obedience. Aimed at giving you and your dog working/competing training to a high level. Acceptance is by assessment only.

Good Citizen Dog Scheme (GCDS)

The club also operates the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme (GCDS). This is a progressive, assessed, award scheme recognized nationally. Awards include Puppy Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Competitions

Internal club competitions are held twice a year. Obedience competitions are held across the country throughout the year.
